City council, county commission refuse to make reforms highlighted in two administrative notices — one touching on warrantless arrests (45 days ago), the other on abuse of the state’s shipping-trucking-hauling-transportation statute to bring arrests and abuse on people not involved in those licensed and privileged lines of work (821 days ago, Tennessee transportation administrative notice). Put on awares about violation of law and refusing to restore justice and respect the rights of the people, these governing bodies in Hamilton County, Tenn., invite potentially violent responses to single acts of police violence, such as the killing of George Floyd on Monday in Minneapolis. They are loading a local powder keg for a future ignition, and I have been giving these good people due warning — and a remedy.
